Year 7 UCAN Graduation July 2019

UCAN (University of City Academy Norwich) offers students a wide range of extra-curricular experiences and challenges throughout the academic year, giving them the opportunity to develop team work, take risks and raise their future aspirations.

On 23rd July students in Year 7 celebrated their achievements at our first UCAN Graduation Ceremony held at the University of East Anglia.

The ceremony was hosted by the UEA outreach team, who provided a very tasty barbecue for our young achievers prior to the ceremony.Β  Students wore blue gowns and mortar boards to receive their certificates from Mr Collin, in front of an audience of their families – many of whom shed a proud tear as their child was awarded their graduation certificate.

Mr Collin, our Headteacher said: ‘Our students were so brilliant, demonstrating the very best versions of themselves at the UEA for City Academy Norwich’s first ever Year 7 Graduation.Β  Huge congratulations to all the Year 7 graduates and a big thank you to the UEA and CAN staff teams’ #Be_the_Best_You

Steph Copsey, UEA Outreach Manager: “UEA is proud to work closely with the staff and pupils of City Academy Norwich to recognise their achievements and support their future aspirations.Β  It’s important to us that the pupils feel welcome and comfortable on the campus and know that is as much their campus as anyone else”
