GCSE Results 2019

Students and staff at City Academy Norwich are today celebrating sustained improvements and the best results in the Academy’s history

Overall, 44% of students at the school achieved a Grade 4 or better in English and in maths, with a 4 being the new grade set by the Government as a pass. These outcomes mark the second consecutive year of record results for the school, as the school continues its journey of rapid improvement.

With strengths across the board, results in English and maths were particularly strong, with 61% of students achieving at least a Grade 4 in English and 40% of students achieved a Grade 5 or higher –   defined by the Government as a “strong pass” or better.

Maths, gained 48% of the students achieving a Grade 4 or higher, and 51% of our Pupil premium students achieving a Grade 4 or above.

“This year’s results demonstrate the sustained improvements led by the Academies new leadership team and show how well our students can achieve when given the right climate in which to flourish. I would like to congratulate all our students on their results and thank all our staff for their commitment and passion over this year.”
