£655.11 raised for Comic Relief

On Friday 15th March 2019 the Academy was buzzing with red noses and fundraising activities for Comic Relief/Red Nose Day.

Students donated money to hold a non-uniform day, which proved very popular.  Student Council members from each House – Griffins, Phoenix and Titans were shaking their House coloured money boxes throughout break and lunchtime to raise as much as they could.

A bake-off organised by Mrs Land, involving staff and students the day before, provided a tasty selection of cakes and biscuits to sell, and there was a staff/student ‘Guess Mr Collins’ favourite cupcake – it’s a Black Forest cupcake.

After all that cake, staff and students took part in an inter-House rowing machine challenge in the Atrium.  When this was held for Children in Need, Titan won by 75 metres. This time however the results were completely different:

1st – Griffins (4816m)

2nd – Phoenix (3497m)

3rd – Titans (3380m)

Thank you to all parent/carers, students and staff for your support in helping raise £ for Comic Relief/Red Nose Day.

1st Place was Titans = £230.23

2nd Place was Griffins = £224.60

3rd Place was Phoenix = £210.28

Total money raised for Comic Relief/Red Nose Day:    £665.11
