City Academy Norwich and UEA have successfully won funding from the AHRC (The Arts and Humanities Research Council) to run a collaborative project with year 7 students.
We will be working alongside researchers at UEA and the Lycée Ahmadu Kurandaga de Zinder, a secondary school in Niger. Students will be involved in a series of online exchanges and will build web pages collaboratively with peers in Niger. The focus will be challenging ideas about Africa and understanding ourselves.
Students will take part in lectures and seminars at UEA, visit the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, the mosque and the Castle museum in Norwich, try a Hausa meal and ultimately plan and run their own school trip for the rest of the year group to the Sainsbury centre.
